The Institute for Animal Happiness

The Institute for Animal Happiness is a grassroots animal rescue, sanctuary and vegan advocacy organization located in Rhinebeck, NY. IFAH’s primary expertise and daily devotion is the care of disabled farmed birds – providing innovative care options and engaging in consistent, creative advocacy. IFAH is also dedicated to making change through our vegan-focused programs and events, such as our free vegan food program, The Happy Cart (now in its 6th year) which has fed thousands of free meals to Hudson Valley residents. By increasing community access, IFAH helps the public connect critical dots about systems of oppression that harm both humans and nonhumans, illuminating the ethics of Animal Liberation as they intersect with broader social justice movements for change, and broadening our impact.
