Founded in 2002, New Mexico Horse Rescue at Walkin N Circles Ranch, Inc. is a non-profit horse rescue that rehabilitates and finds homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected horses.
A board of directors oversees our day-to-day operations with the assistance of an on-site caretaker and more than 100 volunteers. We utilize University of California, Davis Best Practices for Horse Rescues and natural horsemanship to guide our work.
We care for 30 to 50 horses on the ranch and several more in foster care. We are licensed, regulated and inspected annually by the New Mexico Livestock Board. Most of our horses that come to us have been owner surrendered or seized by the Livestock Board due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
