Identify and achieve your goals – don’t just keep your head above water

Presented by: Gregg Tully, Animals Unbound
How does a successful program or campaign help you create the world you want for animals? Nonprofit leaders and managers need to spend most of our time on everyday work, but too many of us feel like we’re drowning in work without knowing if we’re producing meaningful change. If you don’t dedicate time to identifying the goals of your project or your organization as well as specific steps to achieve them, you may struggle for decades without ever fulfilling the reasons that brought you to the field of animal protection. This is a cause of the stress and burnout that’s pervasive in our movement. Whether you’re responsible for short-term projects, an ongoing program, or an entire organization, there’s a key to success. It starts with listing a manageable number of goals that you want to accomplish in the coming years. The next step is identify major obstacles between where you are and where you want to be, and then work backward from your goals to create a series of concrete, attainable, and measurable objectives that will lead you to them. While the goals and objectives of every organization, program, campaign, and project are unique, the process for defining them is remarkably similar. This webinar will empower project managers and leaders of animal protection organizations to act more strategically, increase your impact for animals, and expand your roles in the animal protection movement.
