Enrichment for All
Environmental enrichment – a term used to describe changing a captive animal’s environment in a way that improves the animal’s quality of life – has been widely documented for promoting captive animal welfare. Yet often it is considered an ‘add on’ or expensive ‘extra’ for already stretched wildlife sanctuaries and rescue centres.
Global Animal Welfare has been working with wildlife sanctuaries and rescue centres, identifying and addressing welfare needs and routinely incorporating enrichment. In this webinar, Global Animal Welfare’s co-founder Nicola Field will explain how environmental enrichment does not need to be expensive or complicated for human care givers. Her presentation will include strategies for multi-species centers, and those that care for both releasable and nonreleasable animals.
