June 16, 2025 (Warm Springs, GA) – The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS), the only globally recognized organization providing standards for identifying legitimate animal sanctuaries, awarded Accredited status to Full Circle Farm Sanctuary as of June 2, 2025.

Accreditation signifies that Full Circle Farm Sanctuary (FCFS) meets GFAS’ rigorous and peer-reviewed animal care standards which are confirmed by a comprehensive site visit. Accreditation also signifies adherence to standards addressing the sustainability of the organization, ethical principles, finances, staffing, education, outreach, security and safety and other operational aspects. The Accreditation status also provides a clear and trusted means for the public, donors, and grantors to recognize FCFS as an exceptional organization.

“Sometimes an organization comes along that reminds you just how impactful a skilled, dedicated, professional team can be – that’s Full Circle Farm Sanctuary” said Jessica Harris, MS, GFAS Farmed Animal Program Director. She continues, “Truly empathy in action, Full Circle demonstrates an incredible dedication to the FCFS residents and the FCFS mission, through their provision of world-class animal care and a level of professionalism that has allowed the FCFS organization to flourish. This team has an eye for excellence and the dedication to achieve it, and it’s clear that after 15 years in operation, this Accreditation is a full-circle moment, for them and the rescued residents. We couldn’t be happier to welcome them into the GFAS family.”

“Full Circle Farm Sanctuary (FCFS) is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is incredibly proud to be the first farmed animal sanctuary in Georgia accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS)—a powerful recognition of our unwavering commitment to exceptional animal care and organizational integrity” states the Full Circle Board of Directors.

“Since 2021, FCFS has operated under a bold, animal-centered model that prioritizes long-term sustainability and the highest standards of care. Uniquely, we operate without an Executive Director or paid administrative staff. All administrative work is handled by our three person dedicated volunteer board, each member serving 9 to 11 years and contributing time, expertise, and financial support. Despite our lean structure, we are intentional in all we do and never compromise on quality or impact. FCFS cares for over 100 rescued residents across 55 acres and relies 100% on public donations, which is particularly remarkable given our rural Georgia location. GFAS accreditation affirms our innovative approach and the dedication of everyone involved in the sanctuary’s mission. The goal of accreditation was to do more for animals and increase our impact. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we look forward to all we can accomplish in the future.”

About Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries
Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the sole purpose of strengthening and supporting the work of animal sanctuaries, rescues, and rehabilitation centers worldwide. The goal of GFAS in working with and assisting these animal care facilities is to ensure they are supported, honored, recognized and rewarded for meeting important criteria in providing care to the animals in residence. GFAS was founded in 2007 by animal protection leaders from a number of different organizations in response to virtually unchecked and often hidden exploitation of animals for human entertainment and financial profit. The GFAS Board of Directors guides the organization’s work in a collaborative manner. While the board includes those in top leadership at Humane World for Animals, International Fund for Animal Welfare, and American Anti-Vivisection Society, all board members serve as individuals dedicated to animal sanctuaries. www.sanctuaryfederation.org.

About Full Circle Farm Sanctuary
Full Circle Farm Sanctuary provides a safe and loving forever home for animals who were once farmed, discarded, abused, neglected, or denied appropriate care. Here, they are given the chance to heal, retire, and live out their natural lives as freely as possible. We are committed to providing each resident with high-quality, lifelong care. No matter the medical challenges they may face, we stop at nothing to ensure they receive the treatment and compassion they deserve. FCFS also educates, advocates, and shares the stories of each resident—so they may be seen as someone, not something.

The FCFS mission is rooted in the belief that all animals—including farmed animals—deserve to be seen as individuals, worthy of care, respect, compassion, and consideration. The residents of FCFS are the fortunate few, representing the billions of lives in the animal agriculture system—destined to become food or products. We believe the most effective way to alleviate animal suffering, protect the environment, combat world hunger, and promote human health is through embracing a vegan lifestyle. At FCFS, we are committed to doing the hard work, to inspire change in an effort to help create a kinder, more compassionate world for all.
