TPR has made horses with training problems and horses in need of surgery and rehabilitation the priority when accepting horses into our retraining and rehabilitation program. We take “unwanted horses” and turn them into “most wanted horses” with the help of America’s Heroes who participate in the Hero Horses Program. Without our intervention, many of these horses end up in the slaughter pipeline when people give up on them because they have exhausted all possible avenues of help for these horses. Saving these horses sends a message of hope to our veterans and the horse community that these horses are not a lost cause – they can be successful citizens if just given the chance.
