MAARS is the oldest and largest organization in the Midwest providing sanctuary, and both medical and behavioral rehabilitation programs for captive parrots. MAARS also strongly focuses on offering education, and behavioral consultation programs for guardians and those who wish to learn more about captive parrots.
Our mission is to provide exemplary lifelong care for our permanent flock of over 80 parrots that are largely unadoptable due to health or behavioral issues exacerbated by being in captivity. Run purely on donations and a team of committed volunteers, MAARS strives to provide the best possible quality of life for every bird in our care.
