Hope in the Valley takes in horses that are abused, abandoned, neglected, surrendered by their owners, sent to slaughter, or seized by law enforcement or animal control agencies. Our goal is to heal them physically and mentally by taking care of their needs and finding adoptive homes for them with loving families. Any adopters that can not continue to care for the equine they have adopted, must return them to the Rescue. They cannot be sold or given away by adopter.
We currently partner with Horses for Heroes, Victory in the Valley Kids Cancer Camp, the AMBUCS organization who makes tricycles for disabled children. We participate in providing a horse riding experience at the Wichita Riverfestival yearly to do education and give those who have never ridden a horse, the opportunity to do so. We work with local law enforcement on cruelty neglect cases and offer community service opportunities through our local DA’s office along with high schools, scouts, and other organizations.
We rely solely on public donations to help pay for Veterinary care, farrier care, grain and hay. We currently have 54 horses at the facility with 15 in Sanctuary. They will spend the rest of their lives here with us until they cross the Rainbow Bridge.
