Duchess Sanctuary

Duchess Sanctuary is a 1,120-acre oasis for almost 200 rescued horses and donkeys. Many of our horses were rescued from the pregnant mare urine industry, while others were rescued from public lands, slaughter, neglect, abandonment, and/or abuse. We provide permanent sanctuary, ensuring each equine is safe for their entire life. In addition to caring for our equines using the best practices available to give them the most comfortable final home possible, we also do our very best to protect and preserve the sanctuary environment for the benefit of the native plant and animal species.
