Founded in 1989, DEFHR is a nationally recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is ensure quality care and treatment of horses through intervention, education and outreach. DEFHR provides safe haven to all breeds of equines and has become the leading equine rescue organization in Maryland and throughout the east coast.
