Begin Again Horse Rescue is a 501c-3 organization inspected and accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries(GFAS) and by the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).It holds the annual Guardian status through the EQUUS Foundation and the Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency.
Since 2009, BAHR has been a volunteer run horse rescue in Western NY. It is dedicated t the rehabilitation and rehoming of equines at risk of neglect, abuse and possible slaughter. Offered to these horses, ponies, donkeys and mules is a place of peace and rest while facilitating forever home placements.
Additionally, programs are offered like Horses Helping Humans, an equine assisted educational opportunity for youth, a trainer is on staff to help the horses learn good citizenship skills and become more adoptable, gelding and euthanasia funds are available to assist the local community, and Begin Again Tack Shop is open to the public, making low cost tack and supplies available through donations.
