The Wild Horse Rescue Center (WHRC) was founded in 2000 and became a nonprofit organization in 2007. WHRC is dedicated to the welfare, rescue and preservation of America’s wild horses – the mustangs. WHRC receives mustangs that have been taken from the wild and from there, ended up in neglectful or abusive situations. WHRC rehabilitates these wild horses and burros so they have a chance at getting adopted into good homes and have a dignified life after being taken from the wild. The mustangs at WHRC have been transported to other shelters in Virginia, Georgia, and California.
