Colorado Horse Rescue

Colorado Horse Rescue (CHR) is committed to creating a reality where safe solutions exist for every horse in Colorado and beyond. Established in 1986, we have a legacy of making a real, measurable difference in the number of at-risk horses and the options available to them. Each year, we welcome horses from private owners, fellow rescues, and livestock auctions through our gates. These deserving horses, all with varying needs and abilities, are offered an opportunity to heal, receive training, and be a part of our robust foster and adoption programs to eventually find their forever home.

Every day, we choose to keep our eyes, minds, and gates open to what’s possible for the betterment of horses everywhere. We believe that it’s up to us – all of us – to create new traditions in the best interest of horses, humans, and the partnership we share.
