Developing Youth Service Projects to Benefit Your Sanctuary Through Youth Changemaker Clubs

Presented by: Kristina Hulvershorn, HEART

This virtual training offered through HEART’s new partnership with GFAS will introduce animal sanctuary leaders to the Youth Changemaker Clubs model and explore how it can benefit their sanctuary. Participants will learn about how they can establish and support animal-focused Youth Changemaker Clubs, including the potential to receive HEART microgrants, and how to find volunteers (who can be trained by HEART) to lead clubs, minimizing the demand on sanctuary staff time. Youth Changemaker Clubs connect motivated, caring youth with your sanctuary, where they will learn about relevant issues and implement a project to benefit the sanctuary, empowering the next generation of compassionate leaders. While projects are determined by the club members, examples include outreach and awareness initiatives, efforts to directly benefit the animals, and educational activities in your community. All efforts are designed to amplify your mission for animal protection.
